Frequently Asked Questions

So glad you asked! The full answer is outlined in the 9 steps below.
You’ve found an RV you’re seriously considering buying!
Give me a call to ask any questions and to book your pre-purchase inspection. I will need the year, make, model , and floor plan of the RV as well as the VIN.Please note that I do not hold available dates without an actual appointment booking.
On your end, especially for a private sale, you’ll want to confirm that full hookups (water, electric [30 or 50amp], and sewer) will be available, and the date / start time work for the seller.
When I book the appointment for you, the software I use will automatically send over the Points of Inspection, an Inspection Agreement, RV Inspection Requirements, and the invoice for you to review, sign, and pay. Again, feel free to ask any questions.
I will perform the inspection of the RV. I communicate with you at the beginning of the inspection and at the end. I take hundreds of pictures and videos, and spend 4-9 hours on site- depending on the type of RV and level of inspection. Every system is inspected, including water, propane, electrical, and the structure. I welcome sellers meeting me at the beginning and buyers meeting me at the end, though I appreciate time and space to do my best work during the inspection.
I provide a verbal report to you as I am wrapping up the inspection.
The written report is provided within 24 hours of finishing the inspection. Essential inspections include 30-50 pictures and are often around 50 pages in length. Premier level inspections include 80-100 pictures and are often around 100 pages in length.
I make myself available to you for a follow up call within a few days of receiving the report to discuss any aspect of the report and provide more clarity.
I cannot perform repairs or maintenance on your RV for a full year following the inspection per the NRVIA code of ethics. However, I do enjoy hearing about my clients’ adventures with their RV! If you need any repair work, I recommend finding an RVTAA qualified technician near you at https://rvtaa.org/locate/

The NRVIA has two recognized levels of RV inspection, the Essential and the Premier. While these two levels of inspection are based on the NRVIA Standards of Inspection, they provide different levels of detail in both the inspection and resulting report. The price ranges for these inspections run from $400 - $1200, depending on the type and complexity of the RV. For many folks purchasing an older RV, this can quickly become cost prohibitive.
Mission RV has developed a system to evaluate the condition of critical and life safety systems to support this segment of the market. While a condition survey is not a full inspection of the RV, the systems and components surveyed are assessed to the same high NRVIA standard.
